Hello guys,
I just upgraded from a Quad Q6700 with Gigabyte EP35C-DSR3 board to i7 920 with the Asus P6T.
I have boot sequence problem.
I have many hard drives and thus never had any problem with the boot sequence.
I have:
- 2X500GB Seagate on the on board Intel ICH10R RAID 0. (SATA1 and SATA2)
- 2X1TB Hitachi drives on an addon PCIx1 RAID 0 card.
-DVD burner on SATA 6.
-eSATA backplate out in the back connected to SATA5
-1X 1TB Seagate on SATA3 and another 1TB on SATA4.
-1X 1.5TB Seagate and a 1TB Seagate that I would like to use both on the Jmicron on board.
Now with my Gigabyte board, I was able to make the 2X500GB on the Intel ICH10R RAID0 as a boot drive and it would always be first to boot in the sequence.
The 2 drives on the Jmicron will work as 2 individual drives.
Now with the Asus P6T, if I have all 3 intel ICH10R, Jmicron, and the Silicon image card on PCIx1, then my boot drive from the Intel ICH10R won't even detect or show up on the boot sequence. It just does not work or show up at all.
If I disable the Jmicron on board then the Intel ICH10R will boot.
Or if disable the Silicon Image extra card, then the Intel ICH10R will boot first in the sequence.
Do you guys think a new BIOS will fix it?
I just want it to go back to the way my Gigabyte used to be with no Xpert drives but just two AHCI drives working at the same time as a hot swap. With the Xpert drive in normal mode, only ONE drive will work at a time.
I also want all 3 controller to work at the same time (Intel ICH10R, Jmicron, and the Silicon Image) and with the Intel ICH10R as the chosen boot drive.
Thanks for any help on getting this work the way I want it to.
