Intel i845G Chipset -> Dual Channel ?

Yep, the i845 was strictly single channel. Dual channel DDR was formally introduced for Intel desktop systems with the i865/i875 chipsets. There was briefly an E7205 workstation chipset that preceeded those, but it wasn't all that common.
