I am trying to build a nice HTPC. I just bought a new:

- Intel i5-760
- HIS ATI 5670 - 1gb of ddr5 ram

AND, I bought an ASUS P7H57D-V EVO LGA 1156 Intel H57 Motherboard

So, I bought it not really understanding the differences between the H57 and the P55 - come to find out, the H57 has onboard video. I'm not going to need that because of the new video card.

Did I buy the wrong motherboard? I bought it open box on Newegg for $115 - original MSRP is $200 - should I return it for a P55?

For that price you're fine. Exchanging it for a P55 board would net you no discernible difference, as both chipsets offer virtually the same features, besides the video on the H57. Using onboard video requires you to have an i3 or i5 6XX processor, since only those have the integrated GPU in it, so it doesn't affect you in any way. I suppose if you were to exchange it for anything, perhaps a non open-box would be ideal. But that's your call.
