Intel i440BX chipset + AGP 2.0 graphic card = will this work?

Is it possible to use new Radeon 9000 which is an AGP 2.0 graphic card on an older motherboard with i440BX chipset with AGP 1.0?
Will this work?

Umm...I think the GF4s are also AGP2.0, so it works...for me it does 🙂
You are limited to AGP 2x, but IMHO this is not very limiting in real life compared to 4x or 8x...

R9000 is "universal AGP" meaning it can still fall back to 3.3V signalling on 2x/1x capable mainboards. And its power consumption is low enough to make it work on older boards that don't have the stronger supply voltage feed introduced in AGP 2.0.

From the paperwork, I'd give it a strong Yes. YMMV.

thanks for explanation, I will try it and post here some info.

can anyone explain me the difference between AGP, AGP 2.0 and AGP-Pro and which cards e.g. use this slots?
