Intel I218-V or Intel Pro/1000 PT

Just got a new motherboard and the onboard LAN controller is an Intel I218-V. How good is this compared to my Intel Pro/1000 PT NIC? There doesn't seem to be much difference between the two so I'm thinking of just using the I218-V but I'm not sure.

EDIT: Upon further digging the I218-V uses the Intel 82574L controller while the Pro/1000 PT uses the 82572GI controller. The 82574L is also what is used in the Intel Pro/1000 CT NIC which is newer than the PT, however there are basically zeros functional differences between these two except for lower power consumption and PCI-e 1.1 on the CT/82574L. As such I'll use the I218-V. If anybody knows any other differences between the Pro/1000 PT and CT please let me know.

There is no practical difference between the two. I would keep the 1000PT in reserve in case the onboard NIC fails or has an issue.
