Intel heating pad???

I just read an article at overclockers.com which recommends removing the stock Intel
heat sink pad since it actually raises the CPU's temp.
Can anyone confirm/disprove this?
Should I do it?

Thanks.

The intel pad is your run-of-the mill graphite thermal pad. It isn't anything special, and any old generic silicone based grease will outperform it.

PCTC pads on Socket A mb's are different, and do have characteristics that allow it to outperform generic greases in most situations.
