Hi guys here are my specs.

CPU: Intel i5 4690K 3.5Ghz Boost to 3.9-4Ghz
CPU cooler: Corsair H100i Liquid cooler
Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5
HDD: WD BLACK 1TB
SSD: 128GB Kingston HyperX 3K High Speed
RAM: 8GB Kingston HyperX Beast 2400Mhz
PSU: Corsair RM650 80+ Gold
+ Some cheap PCI-e network card

The thing is I haven't bought a Graphics card as I'm waiting for AMD's 300 series to come out. Until then, I planned on using Integrated graphics ( Intel HD 4600 ). It's been almost a month after I've been playing some steam games like Dayz sa and I right click steam icon in my tray and click big picture. But when I try to change my resolution from 1066x600 to 1280x720, It says that my display device has 32mb of memory. But when I check my graphics on CPU-Z, it says I have 1GB.

Please tell me why this is and what I should do?

Check your BIOS. You most likely have some setting there about graphics memory.

Seems you have 32MB/auto system memory and 1024MB/auto shared memory if I had to guess.

Just increase that.

EDIT: Its on page 3-10 in your mobo manual.

I'm not sure whats the difference between system memory and shared memory please explain. And I'll give it a shot

So which do I change? The dedicated?

The dedicated memory is what's always reserved for the IGP whatever you do. You shouldn't change it unless you're using an OS without support for Intel's DVMT (DynamicVideoMemoryTechnology). Otherwise you're just wasting memory.

The 32MB you mention sounds right for minimum allocated memory, the driver will just allocate more memory as required.

Arcording to your mobo manual you only got 1 setting. So change that.

Okay heres what I did. I went to my BIOS, Under Advanced Settings, I changed my shared memory from 32MB to 512MB. Is that right? Did I do something wrong? Will this blow up my motherboard? Sorry I'm new to PC/PC Gaming. So I made my memory 512MB. It works now. ( Steam recognizes my display device as 480MB ). So if I'm fine and my PC wont explode, Thanks a lot guys :)
