Intel HD 3000 Graphics doesn't support 120Hz?

So I decided to temporarily use built in graphics on my 2500k, and I only see 60Hz as an option. I downloaded what looks like the latest driver...

Is this thing not capable of running at 120Hz?
 
Like Stuka said, HDMI wont support 1080 @ 120hz. Also all the Korean monitors state they wont work iGPU and that you need a modern GPU with DVI-D(Dual Link)
 
And of course by 'all the Korean monitors' what he really means is the ones that became famous on eBay. In other words, LG and Samsung (the biggest manufacturers in Korea) don't make this statement

Is that because LG and Samsung have a OSD and the Korean monitors do not? I think that is part of the reason they are overclockable.

The following are Overclockable:
- Overlord Tempest X270OX
- Yamakasi Catleap Extreme 2B
- QNIX QX2710 Evolution II (DVI-only version, not the multi)
- X-Star DP2710 (again, DVI-only version)
- MONEX M27QSM
- Plus various others in the past, not sure if they're still widely available

The only thing that makes these things all 'Korean' is the existance of an IPS panel from LG or a PLS panel from Samsung. The monitor assemblers and brandowners are not all Korean-based, and include both Chinese companies (QNIX) and American companies (Overlord).

What makes the screens overclockable is the presence of specific PCBs, notably the TCON PCB and the DVI PCB. These need to be specific types, and they need to be compatible with the specific panel used. There is most probably a lot more to it than that, but that's the essence of it. The 'lack of an OSD' does not render the screen overclockable. The lack of an OSD is simply another common characteristic that these monitors all share. Other features they all share is that they only accept Dual Link DVI, and they have no internal scaler for showing resolutions other than 2560x1440

Well, this is an Acer 27" 3D monitor... Not sure if it's Korean.
 
If it is the Acer monitor I think it is, you need to have a Dual Link DVI-D cable, and that also means the port on your motherboard. You will also not get 3D from it with an Intel IGP. Nvidia is required for the 3D Vision supported by it, and HDMI over AMD can get you 3D at 720p. or 24hz at 1080p.

What is your motherboard model? Does it even have a Dual Link DVI-D port?

That's a good point. Pretty much 0% of Intel mobos with onboard graphics support dual-link DVI-D. You have to get certain AMD APU mobos to get that capability. Or get an Intel board with DisplayPort, and use an Active converter cable.
