Dont worry guys intel has, a spot in the low end. I bet the 32core variant will compete vs 5060 ti
If it werent for the backlash with 4080 16gb / 4080 12gb (4070ti).
4070 would have 4060 ti perf.
Leather Jacket will try the same thing with 5080 16GB :)

It's an indication that they have a lot of overhead.
Some are overhead, but lot of them are hardware not being able to be fully utilized without feeding a high demand workload, which Battlemage architecture improves.

Lunarlake results show this, with the performance now being on par with Timespy scores.

EXCELLENT FIND!

So my takeaways from this video:

1) We need to bring back 480p displays and then no more dGPU stress and shame from peers for going with cheaper AMD cards or slower Nvidia cards!

2) There is no way for me to NOT be impressed by the Crysis bit at the end of the video. The graphics were more than better and this running on an iGPU is just icing on the cake!

New Copium Dropped
It won't be surprising to see Battlemage, it's just that they'll only release mid-range according to the rumors. The fastest one on the level of RTX 4070 Ti is supposed to be Q2 of next year.

Disappointing, but also, hardly surprising.
He says Xe4 has a dGPU version.

The surprising thing is he said Xe3/Celestial is the one that had actual big changes and a real fix unlike the much more modest one in Battlemage. Battlemage seems significant so if Celestial's changes make it seem BMG is modest, then it's a half braindead move.

It's all about cost savings no matter how improved it would be. Xe3 will live on in several iGPUs unlike Xe2 which is better than nothing. Who knows if Xe4 dGPU comes, they could easily cancel it as well later on like they did with Xe3 and many more. Time will tell.

Xe3 is in Falcon Shores and PTL and is across both Intel 3 and N3E process i just know the XMX Unit Operatins from Leaks

If it truly is cancelled I suspect the issue might be that it will be on an intel process instead of TSMC and said process that isn't good enough for bigger dies.

Intel will not bring GPU back inhouse till 18AP/14A at the earliest they will fab smaller die on their own process though

The cancellation might have to do with fab availability. Myabe they were planning to use 18A but there won't be enough capacity by then, or maybe they were planning to use TSMC's N2 and the wafers are too expensive to make it worthwhile.

I think it's much simpler, since even Celestial was supposed to be on TSMC's process, some N3 variant.

They can save several hundred million by not having a design for dGPUs. And in an era where you want to be careful with spending, if the product fails to generate sales then you end up wasting more on unsold products.

Instead they can make more 12Xe3 GPU PTL SKU which has a higher chance to sell

Ha ha. I'm sure the ARC driver team will be amused :D
The amount of progress made since the initial reviews of the cards bought from China is nothing short of astonishing. How good ray tracing and hardware upscaling is for the first gen has surprised the hell out of me over the course of ownership. I had more than a few "Well I'll be damned!" moments while testing games.

Pains me to know that instead of accolades and rewards, the team members have been axed, merit based bonuses taken away, along with free coffee and snacks, 401K cut in half, on and on. :( None of which bodes well for the future.
