Hello. My parents have a lenovo desktop with an Intel g630 processor which I believe has the Intel HD 2000 graphics imbedded in the CPU. I would like to do some mild gaming with W.o.W. and Starcraft 2 when I'm at their house. Would a an NVIDIA gt 620 be an improvement for light gaming be. The Intel graphics? The NVIDIA card has a 64 bit bus and a gig of dedicated vram. After rebate the card would only be 15 bucks. Thanks for the help.

Almost everything would be an improvement over the hd 2000. Though the gt 620 is a really poor card and performance would still be really bad. For benchmarks look at the mobility 525m (though the 620 has less memory bandwidth). You might be able to play less demanding games at 720p

just asking because tried an had 5450 and the performance was actually much WORSE than the hd 2000 graphics of the intel g630. Imididiately pulled the HD 5450 out. All bench's I performed showed the HD 540 performance to be about half of HD 2000 on the intel G630

The 7750 is what you want, it shouldn't require and power cables and uses AMD's new GCN arch so it will be supported for awhile still with updates.

I have a Gateway desktop with a G630 in it, and it had horrible clip-region tearing in Skype.
I installed a GT430 and it way much less pronounced. I haven't gamed on either though.

Actually no, the 7750 is not what I want. I want a cheap card I can throw in for mild gaming on minimal settings without having to upgrade the PSU. That is why I specifically asked if anyone knew if the 620 would be much better as I could get one for 15 bucks. I didn't mention anything about a 7750 and it's not even remotely close to 15 bucks. Let's please keep it on the original topic. I just wish I could find a performance chart of the GPU with some benches. And I personally tested the 5450 out, it was in fact worse on every game I tried.

if you can find a GT 430(128bits), 5550, 5570, 6570... it would be a great improvement over the GT 520/620

but yes, the GT 520 is better than the HD2000.
