Can I use an Intel CPU (4) fan for an 2000+ AMD CPU (on a k7s5a motherboard) ?
Or are the CPU's now different in their physical layout?

First off all do you mean fan or heatsink? all fans are interchangable as long as you can affix the thing to the heatsink properly, have enough room and don't mind the noise.

As for interchanging the heatsinks it depends on what type of Pentium you are referring the old socket type PIII interchange with socket A although most of those probably won't provide adequate cooling. PIV HSF will not fit on a AMD.
Search the forums you can pick yo some cheap heatsink/fans that will do a decent job. Theres a place that offers free shipping, but I cannot remember the name.

My apologies, you are right, I indeed meant heatsink, sorry about that.

I have an INTEL A65061-001, searching the web (intel's own site gave no results, I looked there first) gave me this info:

12VDC .16A 60MM FAN ON 70MM X 85MM ALUMINUM HEAT SINK

it looks exactly like this one

http://www.pollin.de/catalog/detail.asp?ID=227005

The "contact" area is 83mm x 42mm (are the new processors rectangular???) and it has a black pad in the center of it, ca. 38mm x 43mm.

Thanks for your response.

The heatsink is for the Intel Pentium 4 Socket 478 CPU.
Would that fit on an AMD 2000+ CPU?
