Intel Extreme Graphics baby!!!

I have a P4 computer at work with Intel Extreme Graphics 2.
Is there a way to enable anti-aliasing? At least for text in 2D mode? I use 2D CAD and would like to see the jaggy lines disappear when working on drawings.

Also, I noticed that the there is no way to adjust DirectX settings, only OpenGL... why?

No, I am not gonna buy a new video card... I know some of you were going to suggest that hehe

I dont believe so. Windows can "smooth screen fonts" but that is about the only thing.

INtel Extreme Graphics, should not be used except for entry level users.

Even if you only get a 6200 or something it will be WORLDS better than the Intel. I would HIGHLY recommend you get off the integrated.

Crap...
Didn't I already say that I was not gonna buy a video card for the machine?? lol
It's not even my computer... at home I am using a 9800Pro, which I am trying to trade for something else btw if anyone has any offers...

I know you said that but Intel Graphics are not meant to do what you are doing. Upgrading is your only option, take it or leave it.

Also, few video card except for workstation cards support line antialiasing, which is what you really need for CAD. Works really well by the way. 🙂
Tas.

I think I'll leave it... there's no way I am going to put money to buy parts for a computer that isn't even mine haha

I just checked the Intel website. Anti-aliasing IS listed as a feature, but then under the description it says that it isn't supported... wtf LOL

That is Anti-Aliasing for 3d Games. Line anti-aliasing as mentioned above, is only available on Professional level cards such as the QUadro, FIreGL, and i believe Matrox supports it on the Gxx series as well as the parehlia.

It would need to be something supported by CAD.

Yeah, what he said. Regular consuler cards only do AA in 3d games, they cant help with CAD either.
