I'm about to buy a tft display to use with my notebook, and later on with a desktop (mainly for cad, math and graph. design). As my notebook uses the Intel Extreme Graphics chipset I understand I'll probably be forced to run any widescreen in regular 4:3 resolutions (1600x1200 instead of 1680x1050), this is why I am considering the regular Dell 2001FP (4:3) even though I'd rather have the widescreen model in the future.

  • Is it possible to create a custom resolution on a IEG chipset to support 1680x1050?
  • Do you think running 1600x1200 on the Dell 2005FPW would be annoying?

Maybe I'm making to big a deal of this widescreen, but I'm not sure.
