Not a hot deal except for those waiting on this to complete a build. $99.99 shipped. Pretty much the same as an E2180 except an 11x multiplier and maybe lower vcore.

Fry's BM has their E2180/MB combo today for $88.99. Confirmed this price in San Jose and Atlanta but might be elsewhere. Sell the MB on eBay and end up with a warm deal.

Just to clarify for prospective buyers. These chips aren't really "Pentiums", they're the same Core architecture as Conroe, just with 1MB L2 cache vs. 2MB (older Conroe) or 4MB (all newer ones). So, in summary, these are Core 2-based CPUs with less L2 cache.

Great deal btw, they OC extremely well. I got an E2140 (1.6GHz) running at 3.0GHz, same as the E6400 in my sig with many users hitting higher clock speeds.

I can't find the link right now but there were some tests done on the E2000s / E4000s / E6000s.

When comparing matching CPU clocks Some apps show no difference. Others apps show that you nearly loose a speed grade by dropping down a Cache size.

I.E. 1.8 Ghz E6000 Series = 2.0 Ghz E4000 Series = 2.2 Ghz E2000 Series

Thats not to say that these aren't some great value chips as there are still plenty of apps that aren't heavily effected by the cache sizes. And for those doing a bit of over clocking they are crazy good value. Just something to keep in mind.

If you have a micro center near by they have the e4500 for $109 if anyone wants the extra 1mb cache :)

Can't go wrong with either one.

I got in on those at $99. Had to wait for a 4 week backorder though.

I like my $59 E2140 from Microcenter running at 3.0 with default volts.

Games are one place the the lack of cache hits worst.

With a Bsel mod these can be overclocked even on the ECS mobos is Frys combos, but I think that 11x266 may be pushing it with stock voltage.
