Intel DZ68BC- Any experience?

I searched the forums and plenty of youtube videos and was unable to find many users who posted reviews or builds on the DZ68BC board.

Chipset and specs looked good so I hopped on what was labelled a "new" board on ebay recently after coming across a 5 year junker. When I popped the hood and found an i7 2600 I was delighted to say the least. Now I'm going to franken-rig it. Haven't tried water cooling and really only have use for this thing as an HTPC so I figured I'd pair the proc up with a GTX970, 32 gigs of RAM and stack hdd's in it for kicks. Blast some vm's, run some backups, stream whatever and play some CSGO or BF4 with the kid on the weekend.

In reviewing the board, it looks like a lot of folks had issues with 3rd gen procs, but 2nd gen intel's were super stable. Let me know if you have any builds with this... Would love to know how it turned out.

I don't have experience with this particular model but I used various Intel boards on LGA775 platform and can't recommended buying any Intel board at this point.
They are expensive, lack features found even on cheapest taiwan boards, boot long and have useless BIOS, some were subject to degradation(USB, Audio or sata ports going nuts after a while) and more issues.
Since you won't be overclocking I would recommended getting new B75 board from Gigabyte or Asus for half the price that will give new life to your i7.
 
worst board i have ever used.

does not work with ivy bridge at all barely works with sandy bridge.

do not dare to update the bios.

never stayed off always turned right back on.

lan don't work at the best of times.

Sadly, Intel boards before they finally stopped making consumer boards did not live up to the brand's reputation for other devices like NICs and storage. I had an Intel desktop board and bought it thinking I was getting stability only to find that the thing went belly up after a few years. It was dreadful.
 
Seems like a solid board but I haven't really dealt with Intel manufactured boards for a long time, the last one was made in Ireland, lol.

The more I look at it, the more I like it, though. Especally the LED lightning, haha. The back panel looks perfect to me, hmm. I should of gotten SB instead of Thuban 4 or 5 years ago. I like this board. Sad to hear, the quality wasn't there though :/
