Generally speaking, I know that the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Settings are related to power managing the CPU vs temperature. My Google-fu is failing me, as I can find any information describing what the various settings actually do.
Example, I am evaluating a BayTrail-M (N2805) tablet from a Chinese manufacturer.
In Windows 8, in the Power Management Settings, there is a category for "Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Settings", with sub categories "Power Limit" with "Level 1-5" as options, and "Acoustic Limit" with "Level 1-5" as options.
I cannot find anything online or on Intel's website describing what these settings stand for. And before anyone says "ask the vendor"...it's a Chinese company, these things are often easier said than done.
Anyway, does anyone here have a document or knowledge of what the difference between Level 1, 2, 3, 4,& 5 would be on these settings?
I find the acoustic one funny, because this is a fanless design.
