Intel DX58SO bios update

I usually update my bios every other release, but this time when I did (to 5417) there were some issues with sleep, but the aux cas fan which seldom every ran starting running on startup. I downgraded the bios to the previous (5200) but now the fan runs full speed all of the uptime. I used setup defaults and checked for settings but cannot get this stopped. Suggestions please. Thank you.
 
try going back further if possible. Not all blocks are re-programmed so when you rolled back, the fan part might not have changed so It didn't "roll back" also.
 
Had to revert to the newest with the problems. Intel says they "rushed" the last 2 and will take time to work on future.
