Dual Xeon 2.4ghz vs. Xeon 3.2ghz? which is better in performance??? in general

I'm not sure exactly what chips your comparing, model numbers would help. And also what kind of apps you will be running

Assuming the same archeticture the 3.2ghz single core part will be faster in single threaded apps, but the 2.4ghz dual will be much better at multi tasking and running multi-threaded apps.
