AMD cut prices on its Duron line of processors for value computers at about the same rate. The price of the Duron 850-megahertz chip was cut by 19% to $120, while the Duron 800-megahertz chip was trimmed by 20% to $90. The Duron 750-megahertz chip was lowered by 18% and now costs $72. AMD also brought down the prices of its high-performing chips, lopping 19% off its fastest Athlon 1.2-gigahertz chip to $294. Its 1.13-gigahertz chip was lowered by 17% and now costs $265
