Hi,
I am currently trying to decide between the Intel DP35DP or Gigabyte DS3L/DS3R. My number one concern is stability/reliability. I will not be overclocking, I will not be using RAID, I will not be using Vista (XP instead), and I will not be using legacy devices.
Considering all that, is the Intel DP35DP a good choice considering it has a more CPU-efficient Intel ethernet controller? Or is the few claims of stability more about Intel's reputation in the PAST for stability and this board is not quite the same? I see in newegg's reviews, people claim the bios is a bit unstable....and in the only professional review of the board at xtreview.com, they had bios problems with the pre-release beta bios as well.
I also saw a few things about temperature problems?
Considering the firewire, extra USB, better ethernet...I would prefer the Intel DP35DP...however the firewire, extra USB is not needed at all by me at this time, its just a slight plus. Stability/reliability is number one importance...so i'm trying to figure out if the DP35DP is just as stable...when i'm not doing overclocking/legacy/raid/vista (which i have heard can be problematic on the Intel).
