Topic says it all. Might have a free Intel DG965WH (next to free) one of these. I'd like to hear from a current owner if it allows changing the FSB. Official support is 1066 MHz. I'd also like to know if it'll run an E6550 (which has the 1333 MHz FSB). Thanks all!

The G965 chipset never runs stably at FSB 333MHz (max stable FSB is around 320MHz) so that no G965 motherboard supports FSB 1333 processors (officially or unofficially). Processors officially supported by DG965WH are:

http://processormatch.intel.co...aspx?Boardname=dg965wh

BIOS totally lacks overclocking options (no FSB change, no voltage adjustment).

i had the BTX version of that and it doesnt o/c at all.

the best you can do on intel retail boards is say buy an 800 mhz cpu like an e4400 and pin mod it to 1066 bus (that is what i managed to do today finally... e4400 @ 2.66 on an intel retial board)

i generally try to only buy the intel retail boards since i dont care too mucha bout overclocking and they generally are super stable so i've had a lot of them.

as far as i know the only ones that have real o/c support are the 975x based ones and the new x38 one.
