I have a intel desktop wireless 6205 dual band wireless card. As per verizon fios my modem/router does support 5GHZ.

I am having video stuttering issues in wmc on my hptc when connecting wireless to watch live tv.

there is no stutter when connected via ethernet.

I want to try the 5GHz option and see if that helps in better speed?

can someone help me on how to connect to the 5ghz on my desktop wireless?

A Dual Band wireless router when configure correctly shows on the wireless Network selection two SSIDs

If the Verizon Router is Dual band configure the 2.4GHz to SSID Srini-2, and the 5Ghz to Srini-5, use the same security.

Then choose with a Dual band capable computer to connect to Srini-5.

If the Router is configured correctly and the computer does not show the 5GHz SSID as a choice log on, it means that the Wireless card is Not Dual band.

I just found out today that Verizon router is not dual band. I have an Linksys e2000 router and that has 5ghz option.

Now what I did is..on the Verizon router I connected an Ethernet cable on one of the 4 ports and connect that to the Linksys router internet port, I am not able to see that router listed on the list of connected devices on my Verizon router page.

can you help me on how to connect the Linksys to the Verizon router?

Yes, you can use the remaining 3 LAN ports to plug in computers onto the Network.

Just leave the WAN (Internet port) open.
