X-Scale uses ARM technology...so it ain't going no where. Everything that the 206MHz StrongARM runs will run on X-Scale

Now.. imagine a TabletPC with XScale 400 and Imageon.

But.. how powerful is XScale? StrongARM was pretty darn weak compared to a Pentium of equivalent clock speed.
 
This is sweet! I'd prefer to stay away from the tablet idea, and just be happy with 400mhz of portable power! Palm better kick into ultradrive to keep up with this 🙂

i had a 206mhz portable 6 years ago!!!

you guys are just too wimpy to carry around a full size computer, carrying around these lady-like portable things. and i could buy a 206mhz pc with a monitor for a hundred or two and it would beat the pants off of a portable in every way, bigger monitor, hard drive, so on....

you're just wimps 😉

Palm is already switching over to ARM chips. When PalmOS 5 is released then new palms will be using ARM based chips. These include chips made by intel (xscale), TI, and Motorola.
