Howdy all, I just popped in a couple of new Antec Tricool fans a 120 and a 80mm (120 rear, 80mm front).

I connected them to the rear, and front headers on my Intel d975bx, it doesnt look like they spin at all

I've tried enabling/disabling the bios fan control, etc.. but nothing happens.

I know my system gets hot because i have an 8800 gts in there.

I cannot install intel's software because I use vista and it only works on windows xp (same with nvidia.. grr)

I have connected the fans directly to my powersupply but its noisy all the time and i'd rather if the motherboard could correctly control the speed.

thanks,
-Drew

Try turning system fan control to off/disabled. They should still run, just without the PWM stuff kicking in. The CPU fan (separate control setting) should still work fine though.

I have 2 tricool LED 120's and they flicker like crazy and go only one speed no matter what the switch is on. Turned off system fan control and all is back to normal.

I've got the original Bad Axe.. one of the first ones that came out..

I've also turned off system fan control.. etc.. etc..

My two 120mm system fans rarely spin. When hooked to the motherboard headers, I'm wondering if there are some sort of temp sensors that come into play? Such as located in the various "zones" throughout the system?

Also, you could always hook em up to 4 pin adapters and power them directly off the power supply, to run them 100% of the time.
