I got one free with a nice chip, but I am wondering if I should shell out a few hundred more for a decent mobo like abit or asus. Anyone got any input?

I am a little worried because Newegg is selling the Refurb boards for like $89...

You got it free, and you're worried?

Assuming the board you have is working, either you have a board that will work for you, or you have something to sell for more than the $0 you paid for it to use for whatever you think you need or can afford.

Damn! We all need worries like that.

I have a pretty badass system as it is, and if I am going to upgrade I want to make sure all the pieces are grade A... when you have a crappy motherboard, it limits the potential of all the other components. If I slap a brand new 7800 in this thing and it runs like my old system, what's the point... those are my worries.

Then I guess you're going to have to do your homework to figure out what you need to do get the performance you want... and how to pay for it.

Happy trails.

If you don't plan on overclocking, it's a perfectly fine board. If you want to do any overclocking at all, you'll need to look elsewhere.
