I currently use a 10/100 NIC, I plan to get a D875PBZ this week and wanted to know if I should throw out the NIC and use the nice onboard gigabit or stick with my NIC. I know the Intel gigabit chip is supposedly marvelous, but doesnt it aquire alot of CPU utilization?

Thanks

throw out good parts?!?!? NEVER!

I would probably run the onboard and see how she feels, but keep the old NIC. You never know when you might need it... I also doubt that most could notice the difference in CPU utilization.

I wouls use the onbard NIC due to it new use of the CSA bus. It is supposed to be faster with less CPU utilization. Try it and let us know how it works.
