I'm going to get one of these Intel boards and am going to run One Gigabyte of RAM on it. I want to run this RAM 100% stable at DDR400, dual channel and the best possible timings. Are there RAM issues with these boards?

I'm looking at 2 x 512MB of the Kingston PC3500 HyperX, Corsair XMS3200LL, or the Buffalo PC3700/Winbond stuff. Only the Buffalo RAM has been tested and certified for the Intel boards.

Does anyone have any experience running 1GB of DC-DDR400 at fast timings on either of these Intel boards?

The Buffalo is about 2/3 the cost of the Corsair and Kingston but I'd gladly pay the higher price if I have a better chance of running DDR400 at CAS2. Money isn't too much of a problem.

Any help or links would be appreciated.

(I posted this 24hrs ago in the MoBo forum and got no replies, I'm reposting it here, maybe it's more appropriate)

I ordered the Dual Pack (2 x 512MB) of the Mushkin PC3200 Level 1 RAM, we'll see how that works.

I have been working with the D875PBZ for about a month now, and have finally achieved a stable environment. Had some issues with memory compatibility (and still have some), but here's what I have:

D875PBZ (OEM)
P4 3.0C (800 MHz FSB)
2 Gig Corsair TwinX 3200LL (4x512MB)
PNY GeForce FX 5600
Audigy 2
Seagate 120GB SATA (single drive, no RAID)
WD 100GB ATA and 120GB ATA

For the memory settings, everything runs perfectly when I set the timings manually in the BIOS:

SDRAM Freq: 400 MHz
SDRAM Timing Control: Manual-User Defined
CPC Override: Auto
SDRAM RAS Act. to Pre: 5
SDRAM CAS# Latency: 2.0
SDRAM RAS# to CAS# delay: 3
SDRAM RAS# Precharge: 2

It has been important for me to keep BIOS version P06. I have restart issues with versions P07 and P08 (hanging restarts, blank monitor, reset all BIOS settings to defaults, etc.), and Intel Support has suggested that I continue using P06 until they can address the problems (probably related to the Corsair memory). Although, since everything works fine under P06, I'm not missing anything (yet). If you have different memory, you might be fine with the newer BIOS versions, but I tell you this as a precaution . . .

Just a note. I am using the 865PERL with 1 gig of Mushkin blue DDR400 memory.

I had some problems with this motherboard and my AIW 9700 Pro. There'd be a crash, the desktop would return to 640x480x4, and I would have to reboot. Windows XP would report the crash was in the video driver.

I got to the bottom of this problem. I had to disable Legacy USB support in bios. I did that about 10 days ago and have been perfectly stable ever since, with all options on the 9700 Pro (fastwrites, agp 8x, etc.) enabled.

Weren't there issues with this chipset and the 9700 Pro already?

I read somewhere in the ATI forums a while back.

everything is 100% stable when running at 2-3-2-6 or 2-3-2-5

Also, Intel is releasing a program very soon that runs in Windows that allows owners of 875PBZ and 865PERL boards to adjust there FSB, voltage settings, etc. So we Intel board users will get to overclock now if we want :)
