FYI: Had me buggered for a while until I found this.:| Ripped directly from the Adaptec site.

Question: When you install a SCSI card into a Intel D850GB motherboard that has a Radeon board installed, the system might not boot to the OS.

This applies to the following Product(s):

- Adaptec SCSI Card 39160, Adaptec SCSI Card 29160, Adaptec SCSI Card 29160LP, Adaptec SCSI Card 29160N, Adaptec SCSI Card 19160, AHA-2930U2, AHA-2940U2, AHA-2940U2W, AHA-3940U2, AHA-3950U2, AHA-2940UW Pro, AHA-2940UW, AHA-2940 Ultra, AHA-2940AU, AHA-2940U, AHA-2944UW, AHA-3940AUW, AHA-3940AU, AHA-3940UW, AHA-3940UWD, AHA-3940U, AHA-2930CU, AHA-2930C, AHA-2930B, AHA-2930, AHA-2930UW, AHA-2940, AHA-2920C, AHA-2920A, AHA-2920, AHA-3940W, AHA-3940, AHA-2944W, Adaptec SCSI RAID 2000S, Adaptec SCSI RAID 2110S, Adaptec SCSI RAID 2005S, Adaptec SCSI RAID 2100S, Adaptec SCSI RAID 3200S, Adaptec SCSI RAID 3400S, AAA-131, AAA-131CA, AAA-131CA2, AAA-131SA, AAA-131U2, AAA-133, AAA-133SA, AAA-133U2, Adaptec ATA RAID 1200A, Adaptec ATA RAID 2400A

Note: This is NOT an Adaptec issue. The symptom of not booting would appear that it is, but the issue is deeper.

The root cause of this issue is with the motherboard and its'built in Firewire.
When the Radeon card is inserted, there is a PCI conflict.

To remedy this issue, you will need to disable the onboard FireWire http://www.ati.com/support/connectors/aiwradeon8500dv/connectorsaiwradeon8500dvfirewiredisable.html
