This is my first intel motherboard, and i'm really impressed with some very cool bios features and just the general product. Everything seems to work just fine except I cannot boot off ide drives (cdrom or hd). I can however boot off of a floppy. When I have all IDE disconnected i get a Halt:No Boot Device or something to that effect, and when I have bootable drives or media plugged in.. It just blinks the cursor. I would also like to mention that if i run certain memory scan software.. It automaticly reboots each time, but when i used other software it runs 100% through. All the software was of course loaded off floppy . Please let me know if you have any ideas.. I'm going to try installing an ATA card. Maybe that will shed some more light on the problem ..

Thanks!

I had a similar problem once. My problem was the board wouldn't detect slave devices. All I did was set the jumpers on the each device. For example on the HD set the jumper to " Master with slave present" and set slave device on the HD IDE channel to "slave" These jumpers are located on the back of the device near where the IDE cable plugs in.
