i went to start, then shut down, my pc shut down as normal, but now it wont come back on at all,it has no power, changed power supply and nothing, any ideas what happened? the pc worked fine before, any ideas would be super helpfull
I have no idea what happened. Motherboards sometime just die, possibly by being killed by a power supply glitch, or a regulator giving up on the mobo. That would be very rare.
I would go back to the start and eliminate every other possible cause, just as if the mobo never worked. Check that the on/off switch works. Briefly short the two pins that turn on the computer at the mobo with a little screwdriver or paper clip. Does the heatsink fan spin? Make sure the CPU heatsink is seated properly by taking it off and redoing it.
To eliminate the possiblity of shorts due to an extra standoff behind the mobo, take the mobo out of the case and put it on a cardboard box next to the case. (People do this a lot, but they don't like to admit to it.) Hook up the power and other plugs and operate it that way.
You probably didn't have any cards plugged into the mobo, since it has everything onboard. Otherwise I would say unplug everything possible from it that would still allow it to work.
Are you possibly operating the mobo with a CPU adapter?
How did you like the mobo while it was working? I was thinking (slightly) about getting this mobo from Directron.
