Intel Create & Share Users - XP OS Woes

Hi There,
I have an Intel Pocket PC Cam which is a great little webcam, however, since I upgraded to XP from my trusty install of Windows ME, I have found that Create & Share always locks up each time I take a snapshot or stop a video recording.

Well there is a known issue with the software and DX 8 - I am using DX 9 though - which can cause the lockups that I have described.

Well I downloaded the patch and it cannot find the software that it is looking for - maybe because I am using DX 9 and it is looking for DX 8?

So anybody here use Create & Share on XP and had this problem?

Cam works fine in Yahoo and MSN etc - just Create & Share that causes the problem in XP 🙁

Failing any solutions - any recommendations for third party software to use for snapshots and the odd video mail recording?
Windows movie maker takes terrible quality video so that is a no no so far unless I have messed up the settings somehow 😉

Any ideas - Intel seemed to think my USB drivers were out of date and to install SP1 - which I have done and the same problem occurs 🙁
