First one they released is 3.0 Ghz however they are going to make 2.8, 2.6 and I think 2.5.

Thank you mroleg. Thank you jhites for the link. I feel better now knowing that I don't have to spend $400+ for a HT enabled Proc. WooHoo.... :) Now if they can make it under $200 for the 2.4GHz I'll be a happy camper.

Intels and AMD's chips will be dropping soon. AMD's Barton 2500+ will be around $120 in a couple of weeks, and the top of the line 3Ghz 800mhz P4 will be around $400.

there were a few 3.0GHz 800fsb HT parts floating around before Intel pulled 'em; Newegg had 'em but they sold out;)

I didn't dare buy one; you know you'd just come along, buy the same chip/batch, and get another 150MHz on the o/c than I could, thus breaking my heart. . .again:p! . . .although, luring you into a life of poverty in order to embarrass me has its appeal, too, now that you mention it;). . .

Will there be any chance that intel will release lower clocked 533fsb p4s with HT? I have an 845pe mobo, and i dont really care to buy a new mobo and faster ram for the 800fsb, but i would like HT - but dont wanna pay price premium for the 3.06. So, will intel release a 2.53 533fsb with HT?? That would be nice.

Thanks,
butch

I haven't heard any mention of it....I have heard maybe there may be a couple more 533fsb chips above 3.06ghz but the HT enabled chips will only be in the newer 800mhz fsb chips.

Wait for the prescotts anyways as they will have 1mb of cache and they are suposed to implement a more advanced HT.....This 800mhz fsb as seen in test doesn't offer any mind-blowing speed difference to date. The HT is the best option IMO for the 800mhz fsb chips for getting HT at lower speeds and lower cost, but since I am already sitting above 3ghz I am set for awhile until canterwood i865 boards come out and drop in price a bit...
