I looked and searched here and at Intel for a time line for their newest cpu,the one that will depart from their present 478 pin set up . This one locks into place , and is totally different from whats out now .
This is the most recent roadmap I could find, it is my understanding that cpus at 3.4 will be both PGA478 and LGA775, while all above this will be LGA775.
Thanks , Tejas was what I was looking for . That will be socket T , will use DDR2 and will make everything before it obsolete . Its to be released 2nd half of 2004 . Now when I say obsolete , one can do email or word pro. on an Atari St or a 486 , dont get me wrong , its just that time marches on rather quickly with cpu's . I am looking to upgrade my mo/bo and cpu and will probably do so regardless of tejas . Thanks again and Merry Christmas !!
