I have ASUS Z87-PRO. 4000 MHz works with Auto Voltage. I tried 4200 MHz 1.200 V and computer freeze in Prime95. On 4500 MHz 1.2->1.3 V i have blue screen at Windows startup.
 
Sounds like you didn't win the lottery. You'll have to keep up volting methinks.

I got 4.2GHz at 1.25V stable. 4.4GHz took 1.4Vcore jump, but not the noiseless build I wanted so I stuck with 4.2
