what cooler will i need to get this result could this be done with a 212 evo? or do i need to look at something else

From what I have heard from some people the 212 Evo it is better around 4ghz - 4.2ghz overclocks, I am not sure if using that cooler would work good or not at 4.5ghz, depends on how good a 3570k you get too. I have mine over clocked to 4.5ghz and my temps stay under 72C in Prime 95 small fft stress test, of course I am using a different cooler. It is a great cooler for the price but I think I would get something a little better just to be safe if you want to run at 4.5ghz. My Zalman isn't the best cooler on the market, but I liked the way it looked and it works well for me. I have no experience with 212's though so I really can't be of much more help. Good luck.

The huge ones, Noctua NH-D14, Silverstone Silver Arrow, Phanteks PH-TC14PE and Corsair H100 does the job without breaking a sweat. Better yet, get yourself a custom WC kit and your perception on air coolers will forever change. :sneaky:

Yes. A 212+ or 212 Evo should get you to 4.5 GHz. Your load temperatures will probably be in the 80s, which is completely fine.

Depends on your voltage under load. For instance, my 3570k requires ~1.36v to be absolutely stable (no freezes, BSODs, or whea errors) @ 4.5ghz. In my case, a hyper 212 would not stand a chance. If you have a better chip with load voltages closer to 1.25, you should be fine.

I'm using a Dark Rock Advanced from Be Quiet! (as you can see in my sig).
4.4ghz overclock with -0.35V offset and a maximum of 73°C when doing stress testing...
According to CPU-Z using 1.16 - 1.17 core voltage.

Or do you guys think this is way too low to be stable or safe?
So far LinX and Prime95 came up stable...
