Hi, i currently have Intel E8500 mainly for programming using Visual Studio. It has been my rig for about 5 years so i am planning to upgrade (CPU, Motherboard, RAM) this coming year.. I am considering the following CPU's.

Intel Core I5 3570 ($106) second hand
Intel Core I5 4460 ($180) Brand New
and i can also consider
Intel Core I7 3770 ($127) Second Hand

I can't get Ivy Bridge as Brand New since they are all face-out in my region and the only choice if i will go for a brand new cpu is the haswell cpu's. We can say that all of this CPU's are dead since newer CPU's has been on the market so which would you pick?

I am planning to get 8 Gigs of RAM but if the 3570 would be the picked, i think i can go even 16Gigs. Does 16Gigs of RAM plays a huge impact in programming using Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio? I am using Virtual Machine but not quite a lot, just for testing my applications. I am planning also to install android IDE which i believe memory hog application.

Regards,
Derstine

For the $20 difference, I'd go with the i7-3770. That's best value of the cpu's listed.

3770, SSD is a must. If on a budget, start off with 8GB, as you can always add more RAM later.

Yes i have an SSD.. That's the reason why i am still keeping my E8500.. SSD plays a very important role in compiling. The compilation time is a huge different compared to a traditional drive.. Before, when i compile a solution it says "Not Responding" and even just opening Visual Studio is also says NOT RESPONDING but when i throw an SSD on my machine,, WOW, it's just WOW :) It worth the penny.
