Intel Core Duo or Turion x2

which ones better? i am thinkin about a dell intel 1.8ghz duo core or a gateway turion x2 1.66ghz. which one is better? and cooler as in wont heat up so fast i heard the turion x2 has the powernow technology but i dont know.

Core Duos have a bit better performance/power balance. Turions can do rather well at one or the other, but not so much both at once.

There's no Turion 1.66. Core Duo will give you a bit better performance per clock.

Core Duo is better than Turion X2 in everything (by a little bit) except for gaming and such, if you want that wait a month and get Core 2.

I know I´m a junior member but I´ve been looking at lappy stuff for months and am pretty sure of this.

except ScienceMark, I don't think TurionX2 is faster than Core Duo @ the same clock. For example, here is something about gaming performance.
