DDR2-667 seems like the optimal RAM for any DDR2 processor. You can get a nice OC out of it and still have some lower timings.

I belive theres some article on Anandtech homepage about new uber fast DDR2 memory if your interested. I always like to have fast memory, but thats just me.

I think the bigger issue is the ratio, as the DS3 is only 1:1 with the curent bios. if you cant change that then your CPU overclock will be limited by the ram.

Better to save money on the ram and put it into the Vid card if you are a gamer much bigger pay off.

I think DDR2-667 is the sweet spot for price/performance for those going with the E6600, mainly since it'll allow a minimum of 3 GHz 1:1, & likely up to 3.6 GHz 1:1 with loosened timings (DDR2-800).

Of course, OCing RAM is never guaranteed, so getting DDR2-800 can't hurt.
