Intel Chipsets

Does anyone have some benchmarks on the current Intel chipsets vs others? I thought I remember people saying that intel chipsets were bad, slow, troublesome, etc. is this still true? I would appreciate if if I could get some proof of this.

Thanks.

Actually it is quite the opposite, the Intel chipsets are (duh) optimized for their own processors and are very good chips. When building an Intel platform I would only consider an Intel chipset.

Intel chipsets and mobos are very solid. Maybe you were thinking of the Rambus days? They were not very popular, but did work, There was a short time when Rambus based mobos and PIII did not work well. That is the only issue that springs to mind.

Maybe you're thinking about VIA chipsets. 😉

You're confusing INtel with VIA.
