Intel chipset software INF files - Do I need to install?

I'm building a computer for the first time, so forgive me if this seems like a basic question.

I've purchased an Asus P4P800 Deluxe mobo (865PE chipset), I'm planning to install Windows XP Pro, and I'm wondering whether I first need to install the Intel chipset INF files? The mobo documentation doesn't mention this at all, but from looking at the Intel website it seems that I do need to do this install before installing the OS.

Any thoughts would be appreciated...
