I thought I read somewhere that Intel was planning a series of price drops within the next few weeks. Anyone else hear this? Have links? I'll be purchasing a new P3 933 soon, and wouldn't mind waiting if they are going to be dropping prices. Thanks!

It's mostly P4 prices that will drop.

Don't think P3 prices will be dropping significantly - if that's what you're looking into.

Intel will be slashing P4 prices by up to 55%! This is intresting since the P4 is an expensive processor to make and it appears that Intel will not make a huge profit off of the p4 as they would like to.
Intel is stuck in a sticky situation, their P4 isn't selling and they are losing market share to the unstoppable AMD athlon. The p3 is being revamped with a new core. The celeron is going to have a 133mhz bus soon. Price will climb for the new P3's. The old pentiums will probaly stay the same or a minor price drop will occur. I don't know why you would want a 933 p3. I have a 933p3 at work and a 1.33 Tbird at home. My Tbird is at least 40% faster than the 933. I am very dissapointed with the 933.

Thanks for the replies:

To answer your question - I need a second P3 933 for my server. I got in on the cheap Gateway 6400 (dual mobo) deal. I plan on getting a Athlon4 (or whatever it's currently called) for my personal game machine.
