Intel Centrino Duo = 64bit?

This may be a dumb question but is the Intel Centrino Duo a 64bit chip? In other words can I run XP-64bit on my Intel Centrino Duo system?

"Centrino Duo" is not a processor. It is a platform that currently includes either a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo processor. Core 2 Duo does support the 64-bit extensions, Core Duo does not.

My advice in any case is not to bother with Windows XP x64.

I am helping out a buddy of mine who just bought the Dell XPS M2010 system and he does alot of design work (Autodesk Inventors). He wants to go to Windows XP x64 to get the additional memory benefits (to use the full 4GB) as it helps with the design programs he uses.

So, I should be able to install XP x64 on this system?
