Intel Centrino and Centrino Duo stickers - why?

I have a Dell Inspiron E1505/6400 with a Core Duo T2500 (2 GHz dual-core) and the sticker on my laptop case says "Intel Centrino".

I read on Wikipedia that Centrino laptops with Core Duo processors will have a "Intel Centrino Duo" sticker.

Did Dell simply use the same sticker for all their laptops?

Apparently you are not alone. This forum sequence addresses the same problem with Dell:
Duo
Why not give Dell a call and ask for the sticker? You can buy one on E-Bay for $4.50. Dell owes you one. Tell 'em it's a sticker or a RMA! 🙂

I looked at this too, and i was this close to e-mailing dell about it, then i thought to myself... "it's a freaking sticker!" :disgust:

C'mon, it's what's on the inside that matters most.

Yeah - and I really had to laugh when I saw those stickers going for $4.50 on E-Bay. Personally, I prefer a clean, uncluttered look with no free advertising on my lappy's case. 🙂 IOW, remove the stickers completely.

Same with my E1505. It has the "Intel Centrino" (non-Duo) sticker. But I'll eventually remove it, so it doesn't bother me.

i buy the duo stickers on ebay and place them on really old cyrix laptops i sell in my computer shop in the back of my truck, outside central park.

great idea.
