I know that an OCd G3258 will be a lot better... but can you get anything better in the price range of the G1840? It is a Haswell dual-core with 2MB L3 cache and a 2.8Ghz clock speed, after all...

How many systems are you building?

The 260X card you listed only allows 1 rebate per household, but this cheaper Power Color R7 250X (which often goes on sale for $59.99 After rebate) allows 2 rebates per household:

P.S. I use that card myself with a overclocked Pentium G3258 and have been very happy with the combination.

You can do that build a WHOLE lot better if you buy Windows legit from this guy:

That savings will change your build entirely and allow you to get the G3258 and a non-junk PSU, even possibly a better GPU.

It's legit, I'm a regular over at overclock.net and I've seen many users buy from this guy without a hitch and not have any problems.

Look at getting the Rosewill Capstone 450W, ($60), instead. The quality difference is more than worth $20.

No offense but those keys have to be fake. There is NO way anyone can sell real Microsoft license keys for the prices he's advertising them at.

They are not region locked. They ARE bulk keys as mentioned in the post. He pretty much answers any question you should have with the long FAQ.

What do you have to lose anyway? He accepts PayPal so worst case scenario you get a bad key and then file a PayPal claim and get your money back.

But that's not gonna happen anyway, because they are legit.

They are not. They are likely KMS knockoff's that will die sooner rather than later. Legit MS keys are not that cheap.

What games OP? Dual cores are dying out for AAA titles.

Probably CS:GO, TF2, Insurgency, but also some BF3/BF4.

For that I'd get a G3258 as a minimum for the slightly increased cache and overclocking ability, if not then an i3 which will help in BF3/4. A Celeron would barely do in those latter titles. Plus, in future, any new games won't be held back by the CPU. And really don't even bother with cheap Windows licences. They are not legit.
