Basically is there any reason not to choose the celeron for a basic internet machine
budget is the main concern

Also, if anyone can reccommend a mb, currently have the ABIT IP35-E at 89.99-30mir

TIA

If budget is the main concern and it's just an internet machine, no reason not to go for the Celeron.

$58 vs. $72 @ Newegg.......hmmmmm, go for it!

Stick with the IP35-E. Great mobo.

For a Internet Machine, you could likely get away with a X2 4000+ and a 690V Board,it'll save you quite a few bucks and you'll still have a reasonable internet PC :)

But if it must be between the 2,i'd spend the extra for the E2160,heck even a E2140 is a better value than a E1200.

Isn't the E2160 $60 at Microcenter? For that, it's a no-brainer. Skip the Celeron.

Edit: like the $99 price on the E4500, and the $199 for the Q6600, it's in-store only.

I only saw the E2160 for 69.99 with $5 shipping. Where is it $60? The E1200 is only $52.99 with free shipping at ClubIT.

If you do anything other than web browsing and office type stuff then get the pentium. If you are okay with not going intel you can usually find a good am2 mobo combo for cheap.

Yeah, for a low end internet/office app only computer just get an X2 4000+ (or whatever their bottom end chip is these days) and the cheapest good-name AM2 board with integrated graphics you can find. This will be cheaper than IP35-e + e2160 + video card.
