Intel Celeron D 340 2.93GHz $79

just by the layout of the site it smells like a giant super scam, with im going to scam your bitchass all over the floor once you give me your credit card information. maybe im wrong and they just decided to get a 3 year old illiterate chimp to design their webpage using his own shi!t to write with. however, if it is not a scam for some weird reason then it would be a good deal on a pretty decent processor.

Website design hurts my eyes.
The checkout page has SSL, at least.
Lately I've seen scam sites that didn't even have that. It's been a scary year 🙂

Site looks like a ripoff of Target's retail store trade-dress. What's with that "C-Site: Federal Copyright Protected Site" thing too? Any creative work that you produce, now, is automatically implicitly granted copyright protection to the author by law. Lastly, why would you buy the 340 model, when the 320 model generally OCs easier due to a FSB bump, and you can get it for $69 for the tray version at Microcenter here. OTOH, if that site is legit, that is pretty hot. MC doesn't even stock the 340 model, and their 335 (2.80Ghz) model is $100.

Edit: Sorry, didn't mean it to sound that much like a thread-crap, guess I was just joining on the bandwagon. But the site does seem a bit "iffy", or at least, new enough that there doesn't seem to be existing info about it. Plus, as far as CPU prices go, it does seen almost "too good to be true". So if anyone orders one, and recieves it, please post. My other comment about the 320 chip, was referring to a review that XBitLabs did on the overclockability of the Celeron-D CPUs, and their conclusion was to stick to the slower ones, if you wanted to be sucessful.

I ordered one. It looks like this site has been around for awhile and the other prices are not that great. This item is marked as a special sale item lets see what happens.

Got a tracking number on my order today and a $5 off next purchase coupon. This CPU combined with the $40 Foxconn MB I got from newegg will make a decent utility box for not much $$.

You guys are a little harsh. The web page did not look nearly as bad as I expected after reading this thread.

$7.05 shipping to Indiana.

It allows you to use PayPal. Is PayPal greater or less risky when dealing with questionable sites?

I got mine today, it came in a retail type bubble package - its the real deal. I also received a $5 off coupon and the price has dropped to $75.00.

Shipping (Ground) was $7.05 to my CA zip. The seller is in FL.

If its a scam, I'll just do a charge-back to my zero-risk VISA.

Guys, they're in Florida. nuf' said. After the 2000 vote I think we've all learned you can't trust people in Florida to do anything.

Don't forget that the 64-bit Celeron D CPUs come out soon: http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2329&p=2

Heh, yea, they'll be about as useful as the current 64-bit enabled cpu's from AMD.

FYI. I ordered on from this company when the price was at $74.99 on a Sunday. On Monday, they said it was backorder 9 day. Tuesday I received an email that it shipped.

Didn't have any issue with the order from this company. Hopefully yours will be as good.
