Sup all, I've recently placed an order for my new system which will be a Conroe E6600. Unfortunetly, the chips have been pushed back yet again and likely wont see my "pre-order" until September.
So, from what I understand this chip:
Intel Celeron D 331 Prescott 533MHz

The above will run in my Gigabyte DS3 and works with my RAM selection

Figure for $50 it's worth it for nothing else to setup my machine so when the E6600 comes in I simply put in the new CPU and I'm good to go.
Question I'm asking is, I currently am running a P4 2.4, is the chip above going to give a noticeable improvement over the P4 2.4? I need to gut this machine and would rather wait for the Conroe if it isn't going to be worth the trouble of using the Pentium Celeron D.
