That has taken a lot of wind out of my sails in the base clocks.Intel's Tiger Lake Xe Graphics detailed - VideoCardz.com
A known tech-leaker @momomo_us today revealed the details of the Intel Tiger Lake architecture. Intel Tiger lake up to 4 cores and 28W Intel Tiger Lake is 10nm Ice Lake architecture successor. Those processors are meant for ultra-thin and ultra-low-power designs. There are various configurations...videocardz.com
Seems the nominal TDP for Tiger-U is going to be 28 W. Also Gen12 has AV1 decode which is nice.
Ugh I was honestly starting to think TGL would completely supercede AMD in clock/w this year and that next year would be a close race as well (which would have meant Intel would be walking all over AMD in power efficiency with Tiger Lake vs Renoir when comparing 4c vs 4c).
No matter. The increase in base clocks is still really noteworthy and still pretty darn good being 500mhz higher than the base clock of the 1068G7. Couple on some smaller IPC gains - even just 5% or so and TGL-U should still be a pretty nice uplift gen-on-gen.
