Intel Burn Test pass 2hrs later BSOD

Hi, today I got done running the Intel Burn Test and about 2hrs later I ended up having a BSOD The test was ran on the max stress test setting and at 10 passes. The previous attempts failed but I managed to get a 100% pass on all 10 at 1.320vcore. For the test, I even loosened up the timings.

A few things are suspect.

PSU
Mobo
NIC card

what is likely to be the cause?

Personally, I don't think 10 passes is enough, try 50 or so and see if anything comes up. I usually do around 200-300 passes then 8-9 hours of Prime

I tried running my Q9550 at 3.8ghz and it passed prime for 12 hours and 100 runs of burn test and then randomly while I was at work BSOD. I dunno the cause. Dropped it back to 3.6Ghz where it has been for a long time no problems.

I don't think burn test//ortho stress all parts of the machine. So you get some good test on cpu+ram (maybe not that much on Ram) but that's it. when you use the machine on daily basis it might stress other parts of it you are not aware of which could contribute to final instability. I actually had some BSODs during gaming when I got my 8800GT back then and turns out the card is too hot. I suggest do memetest86 for RAM and some type of GPU test like run 10hrs of any good gpu benchmarks for stability. perhaps run some HD tests as well.

Glad I ran into this post. I've seen a similar behavior, though no BSODs so far.

Ran IBT for 20 passes and ran well, also on max stress. Did OCCT for 2hrs and no problemo.

When I run Orthos, it went up to 3hrs and failed with a rounding error, the famous 0.5 got 0.4 error.

This is with the E5200 running at 333x11 @ 3.663GHz with the G.Skill DDR2 800 RAM at 400Mhz (so not overclocked). CPU temps max out at 54-55 under stress, with IBT it's 60C.

I'm gonna have to run Memtest overnight or longer to see if it's the RAM that's causing the issue.

How about GPU? What would you suggest be used to stress it? Fur Rendering Benchmark? In Crysis benchmark, all on High @ 1920x1080 and the 4850 oc'd to 690/1138, I see GPU temp max out to 92C with the fan at 50% on stock cooler.

I was a bit bummed because I thought to myself "awesome 3.8 Ghz is stable" and then have to drop it down to 3.6

On the other hand, 3.6Ghz is pretty respectable.
