Intel boost and amd boost

AMD64 processors scale very well with 200Mhz bumps. They get about 4-7% improvement in most benches. For Intel it's more like 3-5%. All and all it isn't much for either in day to day computing.

actually, for amd, its mcuh more then that, though i dont know the specifics. 200MHz is very noticable with amd. as for intel, its not taht much. its all in proportion to their clock speeds as you can tell.

Wow... brain fart?

A 2.0 GHz Athlon-64 is about equal to a 3.0 GHz Pentium 4. Assuming performance scales linearly with clock speed, a 200 MHz increase for the 2 GHz Athlon-64 is a 10% increase. a 200 MHz increase for the 3.0 GHz Pentium 4 isn't even a 7% increase.

10% vs. 7%... 10% vs. 7%... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
